Proportion of students who complete primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary education at state and district level.

This dataset is derived from administrative records maintained by the Ministry of Education Malaysia via the Education Management Information System (EMIS). Completion rates are calculated by comparing the number of students who complete a given education level with the total cohort that started that level. Districts are those of the District Education Offices (Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah).
Because Malaysia's dropout rates are extremely low, completion rates may exceed 100% due to a small number of students repeating grades or transferring between districts; in small districts, such movements can push the rate well above 100%. The data refers to government schools only. State-level figures in this dataset are compiled on the same basis as the district figures, and may differ from those in the dataset of completion rates by state. Rates are blank where unavailable, such as for districts before they had their own District Education Office.
