How is this data produced?
This dataset provides a demographic breakdown of Daily Organ Donation Pledges at annual frequency, disaggregated by the pledger's sex, ethnicity and age group. Age group is the pledger's age at the time of pledging.
What caveats I should bear in mind when using this data?
The digital organ donation pledge process allows an individual to pledge their organs, and subsequently withdraw their pledge if they so choose. Therefore, the data shown here is dynamic; the number of pledges for a specific year may reduce (but not increase) in future if pledges are withdrawn.
A small number of records with incomplete demographic data are excluded; this affects 0.5% of pledges, so the totals here are slightly below those in Daily Organ Donation Pledges.
