How is this data produced?

This dataset is tabulated from administrative data on the notifications of infectious diseases collected by the Ministry of Health. The total number of new cases per year is subsequently divided by the estimated uninfected population for that year to calculate the incidence rate. Although this data is primarily collected as part of Malaysia's general healthcare operations, it is specifically reported as part of Malaysia's monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with the most recent SDG Global Indicator Framework.
