This dataset is produced based on the case-level administrative records collected by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), which is the single source of truth for data on crimes in Malaysia. Besides for operational purposes, this data is reported as part of Malaysia's monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with the most recent SDG Global Indicator Framework. Users should note that the value of 0 in every row is not an error, as no cases were recorded in any state from 2016 to 2024.
Figures for Sabah include W.P. Labuan, and figures for W.P. Kuala Lumpur include W.P. Putrajaya.
